Catholics for Trump - Praying Thursday Noon
Join us as we say the Rosary and ask all the holy men and women to pray for us
Mrs. Zimmerer was missing half of her ring finger but I never asked where it went.
I used to rake her leaves to make a little money when I was a boy. She was in her late 70s, I think. That seemed really old to to me.
She was a wonderful lady and she talked a lot about moving from Germany when she was a young girl. She was Jewish and prayerful. I can hear her when I would leave her house on my bike: “I will pray for you, Edvard.”
At some point during those boyhood years, I started matching her farewell by asking her to pray for the things that I wanted. Important stuff like little league baseball and vocab tests. It seemed to work and I came to see her as a kind of holy lady - her prayers seemed to get better traction than mine.
After Mrs. Zimmerer died - I was still a young boy - I recall wondering exactly where she was …. I still went by her house every now and then on my bike and I’d ask her to pray for me even though she wasn’t there.
That’s kind of how I think of people in heaven. I asked him to pray for me for the things I care about. Theology and physics aside, I figure they’re closer to God than I am - they are in heaven after all - and that their prayers might work better.

Which brings me to Catholics for Trump. I am helping with this effort and I figure we ought to start with prayer. So, I am going to lead a weekly Rosary - I hope you will consider joining.
Mrs. Trump is Catholic - remember when she had her Rosary blessed by the Pope. She and her husband - and their family and campaign - deserve prayers.
If you’d like to join me, we will pray the rosary on Thursday at 12 noon Eastern time. We will ask Mary, Christ’s mother, and all the others who are in heaven, to pray for us all.
I’ll be setting up a zoom call if you want to join. Please email me at edmartin1791@gmail.com to get the link/numbers.
