Swatting and Leaking
Good early morning.
What a few weeks in my life. More work than I have ever known and more chances to do good and be kind to people.
We have started to Make DC Safe Again. In just the past 8 days, we have charged 10 new gun crimes in federal district court - the thugs call this “big boy court” and they don’t like it because they know we will put away the bad guys who terrorize our DC citizens.
We also charged four thugs who dared to lay hands on cops. In the 7th District on Tuesday night, the thugs punched and assaulted cops. They were arrested and quickly charged with “assault on a police officer.” If you touch a cop - let alone hit one - we are going to charge you. “Defend the Blue” is real.
This week also found an uptick in “swatting” which is when bad people call the cops and send them to a home with a fearful description - “go to this address, there is a man with a gun who is threatening to kill someone.” Our fearless law enforcement race to the scene but it is all a sham. The cops are in danger during this and so are the people. Illegal and nasty harassment. It will stop and the people doing it will be held to account.
Also, we have seen more and more people "leaking” about their work in government or their own “truth” as they see it. What arrogance! Do these people really think they “sprung from the head of Zeus” and are the only ones who can serve in government or direct its work?
In my own office, my emails directly to my staff are regularly leaked - usually within minutes of an email, the press calls to read it and ask questions. Personally insulting and professionally unacceptable. But regularly happening.
Now, I’ll let you in on a secret: I don’t ever send an email that I don’t expect to see on the front page of the Washington Post. In fact, these days I send my emails as press notifications because I KNOW they will be leaked and covered.
But leaking is wrong. And, if you are reading this and you are one of those leaking, here’s a little clue for you: I am not sitting back and just taking the leaks as a fact of life. Nope, I am actively and carefully (quietly!) investigating. And when I find the leaks, you will find the accountability. As Coach Prime says: We comin’.
The fight goes on but as the sun rises and I think about a Saturday with sports, kids, college hoops and my dogs, I am all smiles.
God is good. All the time.

Ed, my Family and I were glad to receive your update. You are doing very important and much needed work. Law and order are necessary if citizens are to lead normal lives. People under your jurisdiction are very blessed to have your help. We will pray for you as you purpose to make DC safe again, help our brave policemen, and also that those on your staff who are leaking information will be caught and quickly. Praying to God, who sees everything asking Him to expose them!
We give THANKS to Him who has, through His mercy, given you this opportunity. May He bless, strengthen, guide, protect you and give you wisdom.
Finally, the problem children will find out the meaning of ACCOUNTABILITY.
