The Bayh-Dole Act was a bipartisan law enacted in 1980 that set protections for patents and copyrights by inventors. This gave institutions like universities the ability to patent their inventions. Patent and intellectual property laws are critical to a growing and properly functioning economy. Now, the Biden Administration wants to take down the Bayh-Dole Act and stunt inventors and creators.
